![]() ![]() For example a big cyclone may only use the same 5hp motor but is lots more efficient because of the fan design. No matter how big of a motor you put on the things they can only handle so much air before going backwards in effectiveness. Cyclones are more effective at keeping the fines contained but suffer from efficiency. In tems of efficiency and effectiveness our little systems no matter the style suffer. Effectiveness varies by model and features. Effectivenness and efficiency are two different things. Efficiency can be measured as in this case. What is your definition of 'efficient' in this case?Įfficiency is just that its effiency. Each have their following and I am sure both work very well. Overall I don't know that there is a whole lot of difference between the two (quality wise). I don't know if that makes any sense, but when it comes to making big purchases like that I like to know that I'm supporting a company that supports us, as well as provides a top notch product. Clear Vue on the other hand seems to be very involved which makes them seem a little more "community Friendly". When it comes to the social aspect of advertising and pushing their brand it seems they come up a little short. By that I mean getting involved with the online community and offer either discounts, promotions, contests, etc. I like the metal and overall design of the oneida, and although the customer service people are responsive and polite it kinda bothers me that they don't seem to do much in the way of "Good Will Promotion". I think I've flip-flopped half a dozen times over the past year. ![]() Each time I was convinced I had finally made my decision. ClearVue or Oneida, ClearVue or Oneida,ĬlearVue or Oneida. I agonized for several months over ClearVue vs Oneida. From there the last two standing for me were ClearVue and Oneida. I quickly narrowed it down to Grizzly, ClearVue, Penn State, and Oneida for a host of reasons, but mostly because I wanted something permanently mounted. When I began my search for a “Whole Shop Dust Collection” System I started with ClearVue, Oneida, Penn State, JDS, Grizzly, Laguna, and Shop Fox, all 2-stage cyclones. (Although there was a small article later in Not mention they didn’t have the JDS, or the Shop Fox Cyclone, or even the new Delta. However, I was even more disappointed to find out they did not include ClearVue in the test?!?!?! I was surprised and little disappointed to find that “Whole-shop dust collectors” meant either cyclones or large bag collectors. I guess it’s my own fault, because I assumed “Whole-shop dust collectors” meant cyclones. ![]() I was also jazzed because they were going to review full shop dust collection systems. Not only was there an article with Marc, but the Woodwhisperer is actually mentioned on the cover. So I was very excited about the latest issue of Wood Magazine. ![]()
